KUCHING: Since early 2000’s the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry has agreed to the State Government’s request for a fertilizer and seed subsidies to the farmers in the State.
Thus, each year the State Government would be getting between RM10 million to RM20 million of subsidies from the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry which are meant for the farmers.
However, despite of this kind assistance from the ministry, the farmers are still struggling in their endeavors.
From time to time they would hear the Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders telling them that the BN government is very kind to them and gives them agriculture subsidies.
But they are just wondering why these subsidies failed to reach them???!!!
They are fuming with the State BN government for not able to ensure that the subsidies would reach them.
They know that some leaders from Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) have ‘hijacked’ the delivery of the subsidized fertilizers and seeds and sent these items to commercial agriculture wholesalers.

Instead of getting the fertilizers and seeds for free, they have to pay at the market price for these subsidized items!!!
This has been going on for many years without any interference from the State BN.
Countless complaints have been lodged with the state Agriculture Department but nothing happens – the SUPP leaders are still hijacking the delivery of the subsidized fertilizers and seeds in broad day light without having to worry at all that they would be caught for doing it.
This malpractice has to stop immediately!!!

These SUPP leaders have the guts to put the blame on the State BN chairman for their problems while at the same they are stealing the subsidized fertilizers and seeds worth between RM10 million to RM20 million behind the back of Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
May be the State BN should consider getting Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) as its new coalition partner to replace SUPP.
No doubt the party leaders are vocal but they don’t cheat the farmers!!!

ReplyDeletePeople blaming the Govt. for the Dayaks backwordness, and even our CM Pehin Sri Temenggong also being blamed for. Why of a sudden every one talking about the Dayak?, Why not the Malay Melanos? In Samarahan, Malays are poorer and they even had income below RM 0.50 perday, as well as those Melanos in Mukah do the same. Being residing at the river banks, they were able to catch fish for their daily consumsun, nd nobody talk abot them. Now, The Dayaks, affairs were soldered by DP Jabu, and other gangs. The blame should be made thoeard DP Jabu, not the Gov and our CM.People should look for proper vinew to make their accusation and griveness. Under the leadership of DP Jabu, he had been opening Oilpalms estates for the Ibans in his Betong, and around areas.Every year those participte in the oilpalm scheme had income more then RM50.Thaousand each and they had a a grand celebration of their Gawai every time. Those Iban left out are those hardcore Ibans and they donot want to joint hand with DP Jabu and Cos. Then they are left out poorer. Please understand the situation in sarawak, that every community had persons to look after, like Chinese, being the SUPP under DP George Chan & Cos, Ibans under DP Jabu & Cos, and Malay Melanos under the Pehin Seri temenggong. So any shortfalls will be retified accordingly though the channels laid down and well accecpted all over. If any short fall happended will be taken care properly.
